Revision Tips for XII Students

The 2018-19 CBSE Class 12 Important [Theory] Subject board exams are set to commence from  March 2 and with only few days left, students must be well-prepared by now.

Revision is an important aspect of board exam preparation. Before taking the examinations, students must revise properly to retain and recall information better during the board exams.

Here are some tips for last-minute revision for Class 12 students.

Prepare a proper schedule for revising all subjects

Before starting their exam preparation or revision process, students must prepare a proper schedule for so that they can allot time to each topic judiciously.

When students have only few days before any exam, they shouldn't revise without planning and instead, work out how much time they need for each chapter and allot accordingly rather than cramming blindly.

Revise Important topics once or twice a day

In the last few days before board exams, students should spend most of their time on revision instead covering the entire syllabus.

Students should review each topic they have learned or revised at least once or twice a day for effective revision.

They should know the latest marking scheme, weightage distribution, and questioning trends of all subjects and prepare accordingly.

While students use different techniques for exam revision process, it is better if they revise  chapters from the self-prepared notes. Students should always make notes of important points while studying someting as it can be useful in quick revision.

Do not learn anything new or study from new books

At the last minute, students must revise what they already know and avoid studying new concepts or learn from new books.

This might ruin their preparation process and also lead to confusion and increase stress.

NCERT textbooks are enough for board exams as questions are given from NCERT syllabus. However, if they have already revised NCERT books thoroughly, they can refer to other paper solving books, like EAD, Oswal, etc

Students must practice questions, revise as much as they can

To test how effective their preparation/revision is, students can also solve previous years' question papers, sample question papers, guess papers, and take chapter-wise mock tests for different subjects.

They should solve 10-12 question papers before the board exams and 2-3 question papers before 2 days of Subject Exam. Also, this will help them understand the exam pattern, questioning trends, difficulty-level, etc. and analyze their performance, manage time better, and prepare accordingly.
