NEET – National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-
The Supreme Court has approved, the NEET schedule in place of AIPMT, which was proposed by CBSE (Central Board Secondary Educat1ion) and MCI (Medical Council of India).
NEET 2017– CBSE conducts NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) which is a national level medical examination of the country. NEET 2017 is the gateway to offer admissions to deserving applicants in MBBS and BDS courses at the best colleges of India. The applicants who are interested in NEET 2017 can apply for the examination before last date of application.

Reason For NEET Notification Delay:
Every year NEET App;ication releases in the first week of December, but this year it is delayed. Language barrier must be a reason for that. As per CBSE, NEET 2017 Examination will be conducted in 8 regional languages including: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati and Telugu. Candidates belonging to these territories are demanding the NEET syllabus and other study material in their prescribed language. Due to unavailability of syllabus and other stuff in these languages, CBSE is considering this matter seriously and taking time for that.
NEET 2017 Important Points
1) NEET will be only entrance test get admission in MBBS/BDS from 2017.
2) NEET 2016 Scorecard will not be valid for admissions in 2017.
3) 25 years is a maximum age for General and 30 years for reserved category candidates to apply for NEET.
4) Candidates of J&K, Telangana and Andra Pradesh have to follow same guidelines given in AIPMT.
5) There will be negative marking, 1 mark will be deducted for the wrong answer and 4 marks will be given for each right answer.
6)NEET 2017 Exam Pattern will be same as NEET 2016.
What is New in NEET 2017?
- Candidates may attempt NEET exam only 3 times until cross the maximum age limit as 25 years for general and 30 years for reserved categories.
- As per the last order by Hon. Supreme Court, no other exam except NEET will be held for offering admission into MBBS/BDS courses in India from the year 2017 (except AIIMS & JIPMER). All seats (MBBS/BDS) of any medical/dental college will be filled by the score of NEET examination only.
- NEET 2017 can be written in 8 regional languages including English, Tamil, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi and Telugu.
- All the Indian citizen candidates should possess AADHAAR card issued by UIDAI. At the time of filling application form of NEET 2017, the candidates will have to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth & gender which will be validated with the UIDAI’s data. In case, these particulars do not match, the candidates will not be able to fill the application form for NEET 2017. Therefore, the candidates are advised to ensure that their AADHAAR card has correct details of their name, date of birth & gender as per school records. If there is some mismatch in these details, the candidates should immediately get it corrected in AADHAAR data or school records, as the case may be.

Eligibility Criteria
Nationality:
- The applicants must be an Indian national or OCI (Overseas Citizen of India).

- The applicants must have aged between 17 to 25 years as on 31st December of the admission year (for reserved applicants maximum age limit is 30 years).

- The applicants must have qualified 12th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology & Mathematics or any other elective subjects with English (appearing applicants can also apply).

The applicants have to apply online from the official website of the authority. The application forms will be available from 21st December 2017. The applicants are advised to go through the eligibility criteria & instructions carefully before they start application process. Once the application form has filled completely, the applicants have to send the confirmation page along with other necessary documents at this address-

Documents Required to Apply for NEET 2017

Application fee
The applicants have to pay the application fee to complete the application process. The application fee can be paid through online (using debit/ credit card) or offline (using bank challan) mode. The application fees for different categories are as follows-
- For General/OBC- Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 2000/- with late fee)
- For SC/ST/PH- Rs. 550/- (Rs. 1550/- with late fee)
Examination Pattern
- The examination will be based on offline mode with duration of 3 hours.
- There will be total 180 questions of MCQ type.
- The applicants will get 4 marks for each correct answer and there will be a penalty of 1 mark for each wrong answer.
- The question paper will be available in English & Hindi both.
The question paper of NEET 2017 will be divided into 4 sections. The distribution of questions for each section is as follows-

NEET 2017 Syllabus
NEET 2017 syllabus will be laid down authoritatively by the Medical Council of India. Syllabus will be based on standard 11th and 12th subjects. The question paper is divided into 4 sections which include- Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.
Admit Card
To appear for NEET 2017, applicants have to download their admit card from the official website. Admit card includes necessarily details such as- name, DOB, signature and photograph of the candidate, father’s name, roll no. examination centre, date of the examination and the category. Candidate need to go through the details which is mentioned in the admit card that whatever information is provided on it is correct or not. If any mistake is there the candidate have to concern to the exam conducting body i.e. CBSE.
